Hi! My name is Courtney Smith. I was born and raised in Louisville, KY. In 2012, I graduated from Louisville Male High School. In order to pursue my passion for working with children, I chose to attend the University of Kentucky, where I recently graduated and received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. I currently hold my Kentucky Statement of Eligibility for Teaching Elementary School (P-5).
My passion for teaching stems from my own education, particularly my 2nd grade year. My teacher constantly went the extra mile to ensure that her students were cared for, accepted, and appreciated. With her as my role model, I knew that I needed to create my own path for success and do something that would bring me the same joy. I have known since 2001 that I wanted to make a difference in the growth of children’s minds and spark motivation that will last a lifetime.
